The Dragon Boat Festival, also called the Duanwu Festival, is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month according to the Chinese calendar. For thousands of years, the festival has been marked by eating zong zi and racing dragon boats.

 

The zongzi is the traditional food for the dragon boat festival, most of the zongzi are the homemade. There are some tastes for the zongzi, we put the buts, beans or meat with glutinous ricewrapped to form a pyramid using bamboo or reed leaves.

In the southern of China, the people celebrate the festival by holding the game of dragon boat (regatta).

This regatta commemorates the death of Qu Yuan , an honest minister who is said to have committed suicide by drowning himself in a river.

During this festival, the people will have a three-day holiday. Most of the people will go outside for a traveling.
